2009 Sangiovese

Barking Frog 2009 Sangiovese

Garnet in color. Medium body. This wine has aromas of cherry, raspberry and blueberry with a hint of rosemary, thyme and a touch of vanilla. The taste is a concentration of red fruit with nuisances of blackberry. It is very youthful with firm tannins and bright acidity that will soften with a little bottle age. The fruit was sourced from Elerding Vineyards in Horse Heaven and Kestral in the Yakima Valley.

2009 Barbera

Deep maroon color, full bodied. The aromas of marion, blue and blackberries fill the nose. There are hints of spice, leather and jam. As you taste the wines there is a concentration of plums, black cherry and berry notes. The mouth feel is full with crisp acidity and soft tannins. This fruit was sourced from Elerding Vineyards in the Horse Heaven and we have exclusive use of this Barbera source.

2009 Tempranillo

Barking Frog 2009 Tempranillo

Deep color almost black. The nose is a concentration of black cherry, blackberry with a hint of leather and tobacco. A huge mouth filling wine that expresses black currant, blackberry and black cherry. There is a little barrel spice that can be noted, but the core taste is concentrated dark fruits. This fruit was harvested late in the season from Elerding Vineyards and was our first attempt making a Spanish varietal.

This rare red dessert wine was made in an ice wine style, with the grapes frozen post-harvest. The resulting wine is delectable and superb. Imagine walking past the pastry section of a bakery and you’ll get a sense of its aromas, which include notes of figs, dried apricots, fruit teas, oranges, blackberries and white raisins.
