Crawford Vineyard
Location: Prosser, Washington Appellation: Yakima Valley Appellation Elevation: 1000 feet, rows N/S aligned Soil Type: Warden silt/loam
The vineyard is approximately 17 years old consisting of mostly Bordeaux type grape varietals. We source our Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Syrah from this site. The vineyards are meticulously cared for and are one of the finest sites we have seen in the area.
The owners are 3rd generation farmers on this 160-acre site, which has 80 acres planted in grapes. They use a Geneva Double Curtain system to trellis the fruit, which gives great fruit exposure and produces some of the finest fruit in the area.
The Prosser area is a little cooler than the Walla Walla area, which allows the fruit to hang longer and develop superior, flavors and aromatics
